Essentially, you can connect most everything to science. Like we observed in the concept charts, all things have connections that aren't identified until we think and analyze and make those connections for ourselves. You can find science in all aspects of the world around you, the process of brewing coffee to the way the paper was made that I have sitting next to me. To my microwave, my headphones and the gas I put into my car, all of these can be related back to "science". But I think science is also so much more than material things, it is the process that encourages people to think deeply, analyze their thoughts and then think more. Making connections, developing concepts and how smaller ideas and concepts come together to form the bigger picture. Science can be seen as that bigger picture, its that area in which any and all things can fall in to.
Science can be considered to be a part of everything. Therefore if it is part of everything then "science is everything." Science can be the "how-to" of life. There is a science to baking and cooking because people experiment and hypothesize about the ingredients. Also, science can be brought into English because there things students read that deal with science as well as the science of the structure of the English language. Science can be found in History (social studies) because there were scientific discoveries that lead to revolutions that are taught about in History. Also even in Math there is science because Math and Science go hand in hand because Science uses Math problems to solve for experimental evidence. All subject areas are tied together through science. Also science is all around you. People hypothesize and experiment daily. Even if the experiment is how fast can I go before a cop will stop me? I believe the statement is true because science is a "how-to" or "how-does-this-work" approach to life. And in my mind, everything can fit into Science as sub-categories.
I believe that science is in everything around us. Everything is matter that is composed of atoms. The water cycle, rain shadow and greenhouse effect occur all around us. We are affected by science due to the weather every day. When a tornado or hurricane occurs and damages cities science really becomes everything the news and world are talking about. Science is involved in growing food and raising animals. Cooking is like a scientific experiment in the sense that you need to add certain amounts of certain ingredients for it to turn out right. By making a concept map, we make scientific connections to everything.
Science can be connected to everything around us. Science is the reason we know what we know about the environment around us, our bodies, and things can we cannot even see but know they are there. Science affects us in our every day lives by just taking vitamins in the morning or driving to school everyday. Without science we would not have everything we have today or know how it works or came about for that matter. Science is in everything so yes, science is everything.
I would agree with the statement science is everything. Although we may not think about it, science effects each of us every single day. For example, when presented with a problem, we use the scientific method to come to a conclusion about the situation. We don't recognize it as the scientific method because we are wired to just figure things out when presented with an issue. Science also explains the world around us. We could not explain weather without science, but how often do we turn on the T.V. to check the weather and connect it with science? Even though we may not realize it, science is the basis for everything around us and why our world runs the way it does.
Nearly everything (if not everything) can be explained through Science. This is why I believe that science is everything. Even though some people may not believe that this statement is true, I am able to appreciate Science because it gives me a lot of explanation on why things are the way that they are. Why the leaves are green in spring, but orange and yellow in the fall; why the sun rises and sets, why I see the things I see, why it’s important to know how certain substances are harmful to us in one state of matter but are harmless in others… Science gives us an opportunity to explore the “how and why” of all the things we encounter every day. I like to think of science in this way because sometimes Science can be seen as just mere facts and observations, but it’s much more than those things. I was able to appreciate Science a lot more when I began to see how much of my daily life could be explained through Science such as the weather, the compounds in food that gives energy, and the chemicals in our bodies that help with learning. I think many people are the same way; until they know how and why science affects them, they may not believe that “Science is everything”.
I would revise this statement just a little to "science is in everything." We can connect a lot of aspects of life to science because it is the process of understanding the natural processes of the our world. We use it to understand ourselves, our world, and our universe. It is constantly finding new areas to explore about things that we do not know or understand. But for some, science is everything; they want to explore all their questions and have a lifelong pursuit for the answers. It is everything to them. But for others of us, science is something that we acknowledge that is in everything, but is not our lifelong pursuit. They are exploring different areas either in their career or interests, but it may not have to do with a science. As teachers we are to be lifelong learners, meaning we are to be continuously seeking answers to questions in our profession. We, in a way, pursue the "science" of our field; that would be everything to us.
Science is everything in the way science connects many of the activities and experiences we have in our daily lives. The way our bodies work can be described by a scientific explanation. Without science we could not create medicines and cures to help keep up healthy and alive. Science also is responsible for the world around us. For example it explains the weather, landforms, atmosphere, oceans, and even space. Without science our understanding would be extremely limited and we would live like uneducated cavemen. In every subject we will teach science can be involved. For example we constantly use the scientific method without even realizing it. We use this thinking process to solve problems and come up with optimal solutions. Science helps students think deeply about a vast somewhat uncertain subject. Science means analyzing and creating hypothesis which can be used in math, English, reading, history, etc. When science is a bases of subjects student will learn to think critically and develop a better understanding.
I believe that everything can be lead back into science. At the end of the day science explains mostly why everything happens in our day to day things. It explains why everything works the way it does. Without science we would not be as advanced as a human race as we are today. Science explains how the body works, why things on earth are the way they are. In every subject we teach we can in some way relate it to science. Because science most likely proved it or explains why it is the way it is. I think science is a great thing because it helps people ask questions of why or how. It provokes much deeper thought and understanding. It is the basis of of everything today.
Since science is the study of everything around us, everything touches on science. Science is gaining knowledge about the things around us and within us, both in the physical world and the natural world. Ultimately anything we study is linked in some way to science, gathering data, observation, making assumptions, testing theories, and establishing the laws upon which the universe operates from the enormity of the planets and solar system down to the microscopic world of atoms and their subunits. The scope of science is very broad and diverse and includes the study of nature, plants and animals, the physical world, the human mind and body, etc. Everything in your house or apartment is made using a scientific process, such as the processed food we eat, the fabric in the clothes we wear, the heating and cooling systems, our computers and appliances, and the products that make up our furniture. We also see science in our daily lives in the cars we drive, the food we eat, the medicine we intake, our bodily functions, the simple tools we use, such as the hinges in a door, and every facet of our day-to-day routines.
It might not be something we usually think about, but science affects our everyday lives. Science is filled in our surroundings, and we learn more about these surroundings every day. Even if we do not notice it, we somehow follow some steps of science in this world. Since science is extremely unique and broad in it's nature, I believe that we somehow observe, collect data, test theories, and create ideas and assumptions in everything that we do. Along with that, I even believe that we can establish scientific laws of our own through our own observations. Without science, we would not know about how the world works around us. For example, we would not understand why we are stuck to the ground or why we cannot live in space. Not even that, examples through everyday life such as watering the garden or different bodily functions. Scientific knowledge is everything, and it essentially helps us stay curious in future scientific endeavors. Deeper analysis and understanding leads us to see that science is everything, and without it the world would be completely different.
I believe that the statement, "Science is everything," is very true. When we take a deeper perspective look at what makes up life and everything about it we often relate that process back to science. Science classes can teach us to think deeper about topics, as well as, give us the tools necessary to find the solutions to our questions. We can have questions about how things are made, how our bodies work, or even more specific how the composition of silly-puddy is made up. All of these things are based on questions of "how?" When we use science it allows us to go back and answer these questions, and share our results with everyone else who might be curious about the same question. However, when you first see the statement, "science is everything," you might feel the need to argue that statement. However, when you argue the question you too are taking a deeper look at exactly, "What is science?"
I never realized how much science has to do with our normal, everyday lives until now. Science does not have one simple specific definition. Science is complex and it deals with all areas of life. The simple act of taking a breath and then exhaling is science. When someone asks a question about why the world is the way that it is, this can be answered by using science. Science deals with theories and making predictions and testing our methods. All of these topics fall into all parts of life. We make predictions all of the time about what the outcome of a test will be or what the weather will be. When you actually sit down and think about the statement "science is everything" you begin to realize how complex the world around us really is and how much we use science in our everyday lives without even realizing it. It has become second nature to us.
Science is everything. If we think of everything that consumes the earth, physical, social, mental, emotional etc., it all relates back to science in some aspect. In everything we learn in (school, language arts, math, art, social studies, physical education) the majority of our original learning from it involves science, especially the developing stages and explanation behind everything. The majority of our information is discovered through research, analysis and hypothesizing. We discover our information from science, through factual knowledge as well as theory. Scientists are the sole reason that we have all the information that we do today.
Science is not everything. Science seeks to explain in practical, medical, investigated, theoretical, possible, definite, progressing etc terms what we encounter on a daily basis. A smile is not scientific unless we talk about the anatomy and the happy chemicals exchanged while smiling - but a smile is part of my every day life. My grandmother is a chemist who believes that if it cannot be explained by science, then it cannot yet be explained because humans need to work harder. I believe that we have God given intellect and through this we can study our world and learn many things in science to explain it - but at the end of the day there will still be unexplained things. And those I will leave to faith. If science was everything we would call it God. And for some people, science is God.
I believe science is everything in the most practical of senses. Everything we see, feel, and experience can be traced to and boiled down to a scientific explanation. Whether or not we have the resources to explain every scientific happening is the real question in my mind. On a daily basis we witness a day go by, we experience human interactions, and we feel a myriad of emotions. A day going by can be analyzed as watching the sun move the sky, seeing animals interact and driving around town. The sun is composed of elements, moving through the sky because of gravity. Animals interact with one another in relation to the food cycle, and in order to drive around town we must be able to build motor vehicles. Human interactions are experienced and emotions are felt on a daily basis. These happenings can be explained through science. This is not to say that our life experience is controlled by science, but as an after fact- we can explain why we felt things the way we did; the brain fired off synapses, or released endorphins. Science will mean more to some people than it will to others, but I put my faith in scientific fact. I don't necessarily trust that all I know is fact, but rather that scientific fact exists somewhere. I might not know it in my lifetime, but there is an explanation for everything.
